-- CompactFlash for Apple II card holders who have requested them should 
be getting replacement chips to update the interface card to ver. 1.3.  
Rich Dreher stated that the upgrades should be going out at the end of 
October, or the beginning of November.  For price and ordering

--Several Apple II software titles were announced as either updated or 
new:
 
 - Syndicomm released ImageMaker 2.2, the latest version of the shareware 
disk image creation software for the Apple IIGS. This new version improves 
support for imaging 5.25" disks, is reported to have better handling of 
input/output errors, and adds support for the .po image format.  More

- Syndicomm also announced the beta release of Eric Shepherd's SideClick 
program.  Originally conceived as a "HackFest" entry at the 2004 KFest, 
SideClick is a contextual menu manager for GS/OS. Once the user has 
installed SideClick , applications, inits, and other programs can easily 
add items to a contextual menu that's reached by control-clicking on the 
screen, or by right-clicking if you have a two-button mouse. SideClick is

--Apple II information has just become easier on your pocketbook.  
Syndicomm, the publisher of Juiced.GS has announced that for subscriptions 
in 2004, the price for U.S. subscribers has been lowered to $17, while

-- Andy McFadden's popular CiderPress software has been upgraded to 
version 2.0.1.  This new version now has better handling of CP/M files, 
and fixes some printing issues.  It also includes support for working with 
DOS 3.2, ProDOS, and Pascal disk images.copy and paste of files, CFFA 
users will appreciate the new built-in support for CompactFlash cards 
formatted by the CFFA., as well as CD-ROM media as well as other media 
types.  Also included is a volume copier as well as other features.

-- Apple II Networking

  - Apple II News and Notes Publisher Ryan Suenaga has released another 
Marinetti-compatible NDA.  Called MailChecker.NDA, this program will 
report to the user how much mail is in a POP3 mailbox. The program 
requires System 6.0.1, Marinetti 2.0.1 or later, and a working TCP/IP

-- Emulation News

Several announcements were made concerning upgrades to current Apple II 
emulation products:

 - The KEGS emulator has been upgraded to version 0.90.  The upgrade has 
improved joystick support, adds a keypad joystick, adds floating bus 
support, and has several bug fixes.  Information about KEGS can be found

 - Gerard Putter has released an updated version of his 8-bit Apple II 
emulator, Virtual ][.  Running under Mac OS X. version 3.2 includes 
several new improvements including better emulated sound.  The upgrade can
